How to evaluate a Divi 5 migration

Use a staged comparison to find out which layouts and dependencies need attention.

Start with representative pages

Clone the site to staging and pick examples of your most complex templates. Include global headers, commerce layouts if relevant, and pages that use third-party modules. Save reference screenshots and record the actions each page must support.

Track differences by impact

After running the migration in staging, compare the mobile and desktop versions. Check typography, spacing, navigation, forms, and keyboard focus. Treat broken business actions as release blockers and record minor visual differences separately.

Give editors a practice run

Ask an editor to modify a typical page in staging. Check the published result and update the team’s documentation. Decide how you would restore the previous site if a key dependency behaves differently in production.
